Before creating website

It started a few years that many corporations had to join the Internet rush with various reasons.

If your company will consider doing so, there is a lot of lessons to be learnt especially examples of success and failure.

At that time, many plans were grandiose. Lots of them started with order for hardware in millions. We had to withdraw from invitations for site development services because such pre-determined investment would be the overhead cost to consider the outcome of the plans. We never suggest any clients to do so. Of course, our clients at that time were not big ones.

We do agree that big corporations may have to invest in big amounts otherwise they would be look down by others. That is not the case for many others. Also, can a visitor know whether a website is located inside that company or at the hosting service site?

In fact, there is a lot thing to solve and consider before going to create the site.

It is not a matter of budget only. The important point is what is the realistic goal of the project and what way is the best to proceed.

Some may choose to outsource. If there is a lack of such experience or knowledge, relying on expertise of outside services will be a choice.

For every company, it is important to know that without effective administration, whether the operation is handled internally or externally, the project would be at risk.

In fact, any website project is just like marketing. We must consider from the customers' or visitors' perspective for everything.

The best way is to visit other websites, not once, but daily for a certain period. Without experiencing as visitors, there is no way to understand.

Some supposed that the main concern was how to build a web site. This is just a tiny part of the project. Certainly this was a technical issue before. In years ago, web site developers were said to learn from each other. Except for some gadgets to have short-term impact, all such techniques have become general practice if not routines.

Just like some youngsters building their personal web sites, just choose a nice web site; download the web pages and replace all elements with your own. That's it.

Remember that some hosting services offer webpage templates and ebusiness programs for users to work on. Of course, if possible, it is good to change a little to make it suitable for individual need.

Think about such project as organizing a dinner event for your will-be customers. We have to choose the venue, the menu, the proceeding and many other details. We do not need to know how the food is cooked. We do not need to know how the venue is cleaned. They are the job of the servicing company. We just need to confirm that the quality of food and location must be suitable.

The most concern is the content. Does it attractive? Can it lead to business? Is the presentation good for the customers? Will they be bored because they have joined previous event that was similar to this one?

As we all know, there is no way to avoid mistakes and we have to improve our marketing techniques and strategy either to keep back in track or to go ahead.

Remember that having a website is like opening a showroom. Everyone would take it as the image of the company. Corporation image is very important. So if you are not yet ready or the full Internet plan is not ready, do not rush to build your website.
